The FAFSA, or Free Application for Federal Student Aid, is a official government form used to determine your eligibility for financial aid. By submitting it, students access federal grants, work-study funds, and low-interest student loans, as well as state and school-based financial assistance

Types of Financial Aid
Completing and submitting the FAFSA is free and gives you access to the largest source of financial aid for school. You must submit your FAFSA on time to be considered for federal student aid. States and colleges also use FAFSA information to award their own financial aid packages.


Free money that you do not need to pay back.


Gift aid based on merit or need.




Jobs on campus that help pay for school costs.
Borrowed money that you must pay back later.
